Air Rifle
& Pistol
Air
guns, traditionally regarded as guns for beginners,
have now made the transition to guns for everyone. Some
types, such as the familiar BB gun, are excellent as
a "first gun;" other types are designed and
used by seasoned international competitors.
Whether they are used for recreation or sport, for field
use or as an inexpensive training tool, air rifles and
air pistols are an excellent way to enjoy shooting.
In recent years, air guns have undergone dramatic improvements
in reliability, durability and accuracy. Air guns offer
flexibility - they can be safely fired by shooters of
all ages and experience levels.
There has been some DSA interest
expressed in doing some indoor 10 meter air arms (rifle
and/or pistol) Shooting during the colder months (we
all get 'cabin fever'). So, on the following Wednesday
evenings, from 1930 hrs to 2130 hrs, we will do just
that in the Club House: Nov. 5 & 19, Dec. 3 &
17, Jan. 7 & 21 and Feb. 4 & 18. Cost will be
$5.00/shooter .. and you do not have to be a DSA Member
to shoot .. male, female, teen-ager through senior citizen
.. all will be welcome.
If
you have an adult air arm (spring or pre-charge, rifle
or pistol ~ but NO BB guns , they ricochet….)
come on out and shoot with us. If you are interested,
but do not have an adult air arm, come on out ~ we can
supply you with one .. and you can try a variety of
different makes and models. Air arms are excellent training
for muzzle loading shooting, since both have longer
dwell time than shooting smokeless-powder cartridges.
